VFX Environment Artist

Job Title: VFX Environment Artist

We are looking for a talented VFX Environment Artist to join our creativeteam. The ideal candidate will possess a strong artistic vision and technicalskills to create immersive environments that enhance the user experience. Youwill work closely with designers, other artists, and developers to bring ourworlds to life.

Responsibilities

  • Design and create detailed 3D environments based on concept art and design specifications.
  • Process and work with scans, such as Mega scans and Lidar scans.
  • Interpret and follow reference material to produce clean, detailed, and accurate 3D environments and sets.
  • Maintain a real-world understanding of proportion, depth, scale, and physical space.
  • Collaborate with level designers to create engaging and interactive spaces that support gameplay mechanics.
  • Create and manage Level of Detail (LOD) models and optimize assets for real-time rendering.
  • Maintain high visual standards while adhering to project deadlines and production schedules.
  • Participate in art reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to refine the final output.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience: 3-6 years
  • Knowledge of PBR workflows and real-time rendering principles.
  • Model, texture, and light environments using industry-standard software, including Houdini, Maya, Blender, Substance Painter, World Machine/Gaea, and ZBrush.
  • Strong understanding of texturing, lighting, and rendering techniques.
  • Experience with game engines, such as Unity or Unreal Engine, is a plus.
  • Maintain a portfolio showcasing your best environment work.
  • Exhibit excellent communication and teamwork skills.
