Green Gold Animation, a city-based provider of animation content to kids channels like Cartoon Network and Pogo, is planning to produce a 2D animated feature film ‘Chhota Bheem’ at an investment of $2 million (approximately Rs 9.2 crore). “The 90-minute movie, which is currently in the scripting stage, will have its theatrical release next year,” Rajiv Chilaka, founder and managing director of Green Gold, told mediapersons here on Thursday. Green Gold’s Chhota Bheem series, in co-production with Turner International, is currently on air on Pogo. The company has so far produced over 100 episodes of animated content, including Krishna, Krishna-The-Birth and Vikram Betal for children’s channels. Chilaka said three more television shows based on mythological characters were in the pipeline for various channels with whom they had entered into non-disclosure agreements. The shows will be telecast this Diwali, he said, adding “the company’s aim is to first bring smiles to Indian kids before tapping the overseas market in the next two-three years.”
