Friday, 20 July 2007 17:00
Green Gold Academy of Art is the training division of Green Gold Animation Pvt. Ltd., a premier animation studio located in Hyderabad. Green Gold is the number one provider of Indian Animation Content to Cartoon Network India's #1 TV Channel for kids).
The company that started with just four people in 2001 is now 100-strong and plans to double its size every year. Green Gold first tasted its success with Vikram Betal; which premiered on Cartoon Network in 2005. Green Gold took another big step towards its popularity with its fabulous Krishna movie series on Cartoon Network being adjudged as the top show of 2007 (January-April) across all kids channels.
The global animation market (demand perspective) estimated at $59 billion in 2006 and is expected to reach $80 billion by 2010. The Indian animation industry was estimated at $354 million in 2006 and is forecasted to reach $869 million by 2010, representing a CAGR of 25 percent over 2006-2010. Making a case for focused human capital development for animation and gaming, the Nasscom report said that the number of professionals employed by the Indian animation industry in 2006 is estimated at 16,500. This figure is forecasted to increase at a CAGR of 14-15 percent and exceed 26,000 by 2010. The key constraint is the growing demand-supply gap in manpower availability that is expected to restrict the Indian animation industry's growth to $869 million against its potential of exceeding $1 billion. To bridge this gap, Green Gold Animation started the initiative of launching Academies of Art across the country by partnering with "PMI India". These academies are promoted by the joint venture company "PMI Green Gold Animation Private Limited (PGG)".
On 16th July,2007 "Green Gold" launched its first Academy of Art in Warangal. The Academy is going to help students from all over northern “telangana” region to get trained in animation by one of the leading animation studios in India. Green Gold plan’s to hire most of the trained workforce into their Animation Studios at Hyderabad and Warangal.
